Project Managers – Data Warehouse
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
This project proposal extends investments from B&CPR Wave 1 and Basel II PAR 7 and provides a critical component of the WB infrastructure vision:
- B&CPR: The overall objective of B&CPR is to create a scalable and robust infrastructure to deliver superior information and analytics on WB’s performance, and assist the business to identify and manage opportunities and risks to drive competitive advantage and capital optimisation in a post–Basel II AIRB environment.
- Basel II: The Basel II sourcing objective is to progressively extend portfolio coverage and integrity of data to non–top 10 countries to improve our RWA and regulatory capital calculations, and unwind capital–inefficient data assumptions currently applied. Additionally, the FSA has sought for SCB to demonstrate a “Use–Test” of Basel II risk and capital models which can only be provided by a common data warehouse supporting both Basel II regulatory reporting and business performance management.
- WB Infrastructure: This project represents a critical component of WB’s infrastructure vision of creating a single WB Data Warehouse to support WB’s 2011 business vision. This infrastructure also underpins re–engineering objectives of Business Finance, Product Control and Middle Office activities to provide greater value adding, advisory and control services necessary to meet the challenges of the 2011 vision.
As a full time project manager, the incumbent is expected to delivery key project(s) assigned.
Principal Role:
- Prepare project feasibility studies, cost–benefit analysis and proposals for application development and maintenance project
- Establish project plans, resources, budgets and time-frames, and make task assignments
- Monitor, control and report on project progress, costs and development
- Supervise assigned resources, provide technical advice and guidance, schedule assignments and training for development, prepare performance appraisals
- Coordinate plans and activities with business user and technology teams
- Evaluate and make recommendations on purchase of software packages, hardware and service vendors where appropriate
- Ensure work deliverables are in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Plan for and oversee preparation of user documentation, training and support in new/modified applications.
- Be accountable for project delivery – quality, on time, on schedule and meeting business objectives.
Domain Knowledge:
- Data warehouse project experience
- Product knowledge in either operations or product management roles. E.g. Trades, Cash management, Global Markets, Core Banking or Custody.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education required
- 5–10 years as Project Manager in Information Technology with good track records.
